Medical Treatments

The same hypo-allergenic pigment infusion techniques used for semi-permanent facial makeup, are also used for reducing the visual effects of skin imperfections and for post-operative restoration..

Nipple & Areola Reconstruction or Cosmetic Treatments

After mastectomy medical tattooing can re-create the nipple and areola and the illusion of a 3-D nipple and areola complex.

Generally pigmentation around the nipple and areola fades with age. Semi-permanent makeup techniques can be used to restore the natural youthful look.

Scar Camouflage

Light coloured scars can be camouflaged using medical tattooing. Skin coloured pigments are infused into the scar to minimise its appearance. Medical tattooing is suitable for camouflaging scars on people of all ethnicities. Visio Forma is a Registered Vendor with the New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC).

Vitiligo is a disease that causes the loss of skin colour in blotches. The extent and rate of colour loss from vitiligo is unpredictable. It can affect the skin on any part of the body.

Normally, the colour of hair, skin and eyes is determined by melanin. Vitiligo occurs when the pigment cells (melanocytes) that produce melanin die or stop functioning.

Vitiligo affects people of all skin types, but it may be more noticeable in people with darker skin. The condition is not life-threatening or contagious but it can be stressful or make you feel bad about yourself. Micro-pigmentation tattooing treatment for vitiligo can improve the appearance of the affected skin although it does not cure the disease.

In this technique medical grade pigment is infused into the skin. It can take a number of treatments before the pigment “takes” and to finally match the surrounding skin colour. The infused pigment will fade with time so top up treatments are required. Clients are also advised that, in some cases, disturbing the skin by micro-infusion may trigger another patch of vitiligo.

Hair Loss & Alopecia

Micro pigmentation of the hair follicle is the most advanced method of disguising hair loss of the scalp, beard, moustache as well as eyebrows.

Laser - Removal of Tattoos, Permanent makeup, Moles, Freckles, Pigmentation. Skin Whitening.

The Q-Switched laser latest is the latest in laser technology. It works by using different wavelengths of light which react with the ink in the skin and fractures it into tiny pieces which are either brought to the surface of the skin and/or dispersed by the body’s immune system.

This laser technique has the ability to treat brown age and liver spots, brown birth marks and unwanted pigmentation of the skin, efficiently and effectively. The procedure is fast and multiple brown spots can be treated during one session. Laser treatment of the condition may (but not always) need more than one treatment.

There are many variables associated with the removal of previously applied cosmetic pigmentation and ink tattoos. The number of treatment sessions required for will depend on the colour and quality of ink, depth of tattoo and the amount of time the ink has been imbedded under the dermal layer.

    Laser Treatment Prices

        • $180 per 20 minute session
        • Mole removal $80 per mole

A client may require anywhere between 1 - 5 sessions. We recommend you have a complimentary, no obligation consultation with the Visio Forma technician to establish the price and number of sessions that may be required to achieve your desired result.

The medical laser tattoo removal system is the most advanced treatment available. Unlike earlier equipment it will not cause scarring, or damage to hair follicles. A high energy light is fired at pigment in the tissue: the intense energy produced by the light focuses on, and is absorbed by, the pigment causing heat expansion and an immediate breakdown in the structure of the pigment. The result is that the ink used in tattooing is instantly broken into microscopic fragments. Those close to the surface of the skin are discharged from the body; grains more deeply embedded in the skin are absorbed and removed by the lymphatic system. The result of this new technology is that there is a greatly reduced risk of scarring and damage to hair follicles.

Electrocautery or (electrocauterization) is a procedure which is routinely used in surgery to reduce bleeding and to remove unwanted or harmful tissue. It can also be used cosmetically to remove skin tags, warts, age spots, freckles, and solar lentigo; and also to seal thread blood vessels.

Electricity is used to heat a needle which is put on the spot. The electricity is not sent into the body.

The outcome is instantly noticeable. Electrocautery usually leaves behind a wound which may take 1 to 3 weeks to heal. The time it takes for the wound to heal depends on the size of the spot/wart/freckle/etc. Bigger warts, freckles, take longer to heal. Sometimes more than one treatment is necessary.
